A QR code for your event or wedding

Print a QR code on the invitation that opens your event page. Make it a dynamic code, so you can change the schedule, the venue or the link to the photos after the invitations go out.

Printing it?

That code can never be changed

The link is baked into the pattern. If the page moves or the offer behind it ends, every poster you printed points at a dead URL and the only fix is reprinting them.

A dynamic code points at us instead, so you can change where it goes whenever you like — and see how many people scanned it.

The invitations go out months before the plans settle

Wedding invitations are often posted four to six months ahead. In that time the ceremony moves from 2pm to 3pm, the hotel block fills and a second one is added, and the gift list moves to another shop. The printed card says none of this, and the code on it opens whatever page it was made for.

If that page is one you can edit, such as a wedding website, the code keeps working. Often it is not. A form for replies gets replaced. A shared document gets a new link. On the day, the photo album is a link that did not exist when the cards were printed.

Conferences, reunions and club events have the same problem. The programme is printed early, and the room changes the week before.

Does an invitation need a dynamic code?

Not if it opens one page you control, and you will keep that page up for as long as anyone might scan the card. In that case, make a static code with the generator above. It is free, it needs no account, and there is no subscription to remember to cancel.

If you want the code to open the reply form before the day, the schedule on the day and the photos after it, use a dynamic code. It is the same printed code throughout. You change where it goes from your account, and you can see how often it has been scanned.

An event code is usually wanted for a few months. Once the day has passed, keep it pointing at the photos, or cancel. A guest who scans an old invitation once your last paid period and its 7 days of grace are over will see a notice that the code is not active.

How it works

  1. Create. Make a dynamic code and point it at your event page or your reply form.
  2. Print. Put it on the invitation, the save-the-date and the welcome sign. It is one code for all of them.
  3. Update anytime. Point it at the schedule on the day and the photo album afterwards.

What it costs

Static codes are free, with no account. Dynamic codes cost $49 a year, which saves 30% against paying monthly, or $5.90 a month. We recommend yearly. Tax is included. Every account starts with a 7-day free trial that needs no payment details, and a subscription covers 5 dynamic codes. Cancel anytime and keep access to the end of the period you paid for.

If you stop paying, your dynamic codes stop resolving once the paid period and a further 7 days of grace have passed. Nothing is deleted: the codes, their links and their scan history stay in your account, and every code starts working the moment you subscribe again. Static codes never depend on us. They keep working as long as the page they point to does. We never switch one off, but we cannot bring back a page that has gone.

Questions

Do I have to subscribe for a single event?

Only for the months between printing and the day itself. The 7-day trial lets you make the code and check it on the proof, but invitations usually go out months ahead, so plan on the monthly plan from when they are sent until the event is over. Then cancel. If nothing about the event will ever change, a free static code is enough.

What happens to the code after the event?

That is up to you. Point it at the photo album and keep it, and guests who find the invitation in a drawer will find the photos too. Or cancel, and 7 days after your paid period ends the code shows a plain notice that it is not active. Nobody who scans it is asked to pay.

Is the free trial really free?

Yes. Every new account gets 7 days of the full paid service and we ask for no payment details to start it. Nothing is charged when it ends — there is no card on file to charge. If you decide against subscribing, your dynamic codes simply stop resolving and everything you made stays in your account.

How do I cancel?

From the Subscription page in your account, in two clicks. Cancelling stops the next renewal and nothing else: you keep the full service until the end of the period you have paid for, and your codes, destinations and scan history all stay where they are.

Need to change the link later?

7 days free, no card needed. Make a dynamic code and edit it whenever you like.
